Elizabeth Johns Bertrand, 91, of Pennellville, NY
passed away at her home with her family by her side on Friday July 27, 2018
Born to her late parents, Mildred Sylvia (Thoms) and Irvin
Heikes Johns on Nov. 7, 1926.
She was a graduate of Wm. Nottingham High School, and
Syracuse University graduating class of 1948, receiving her
Bachelor’s degree with English as her major.
Betty was a longtime member of Erwin United Methodist Church,
Syracuse.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband
of 64 years, Robert M. Bertrand August 21, 2013; her son Robert J. Bertrand, Esq. on Feb. 26, 2018.
Surviving are her children Jeffrey (Vicki) Bertrand of Bedford,
VA, Cynthia (Lee) Goodman and Carol (Andy) Lanzi all of
Pennellville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are on Monday July 30, from 2 to 4 p. m.

Debra D. (Krause) Johnson Nellons

Debra D. (Krause) Johnson Nellons, 58, of Syracuse, NY,
passed away on Sunday July 22, 2018. Born in Syracuse
to her mother and her late father, Darlene and Donald Facey on September 27, 1959. Debbie was a home health aide with On Your Side Companion Care, Syracuse, NY.

A member of Northside Baptist Church, Clay. Debbie interests included Christian Music and Christian Books. She also loved her two kittens, took delight in photography. Debbie also liked making tie dye fabric patterns, artwork, and other craft creations.

She was predeceased by her first husband Willie Johnson
in 1995; her maternal grandparents Agnes and Charles Krause. Surviving are her mother and father Darlene and Barry Howery her two sisters Dawn (Jim) Ambrose, and Denise Bradford.

Graveside services are on Monday July 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. in Belle Isle Cemetery, Van Buren Road, Warners, NY, with Pastor Bruce Aubrey of the Northside Baptist Church
officiating. Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, NY has charge of arrangements.

Pearle H. Davenport and Diana Davenport Beck

Pearle H. Davenport, 83, passed away on July 17, 2018.
Her daughter Diana Davenport Beck, 61, passed away on
June 23, 2018. Both passed away at home, surrounded
by loving family.
Pearle was predeceased by her husband Howard and her
son Ronald. She is survived by her daughters Cynthia
(Larry Nowak) and Iva Eckerson (Rich); her sons George
(Charles Cassenti), Donald (Julie), and Anthony; seven
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
Diana, 61, was predeceased by her husband Tim. She
is survived by her daughter Holly.
Calling hours will be on Thursday July 19, 2018 from 5 p.m.

Marjorie A. Day

Marjorie A. Day, 80, of Pennellville (Schroeppel), passed
away at Syracuse Home Assoc., Baldwinsville, on Saturday July 7, 2018. She was born in Hornell, NY to her late parents, Clara (Carpenter) and George D. Matteson on Aug. 20, 1937. Marge was a bookkeeper for Paper Conversions, Inc., Syracuse, NY. She was a member of Central Square Community Church.
Marge was very active as a quilter, belonging to the Plank Rd. Quilt Guild in Cicero, and the NYS Quilting Consortium. She also enjoyed reading and constructing jigsaw puzzles,
especially the Sudoku puzzle game.
Predeceased by her husband of 41 years, David A. Day, Sr. on June 20, 2017; her daughter Linda K. Storrings on April
21, 2015; her sister Donna M. Franczak on Nov. 9, 2014.
Surviving are her children Nancy Ryniec, Wendy Allen, Donna
Chesbro; her step-children David A. Day, Jr., Sharon Morgan,
and Elizabeth Day; and several grandchildren.
Services to celebrate Marge’s life wil be on Saturday July 14,
2018 at 9 a.m. in the Central Square Community Church,
833 U.S. 11, Central Square, NY 13036 with the Rev. Craig
Wilson officiating the ceremony.
Burial to follow in Wanakena Cemetery, town of Fine, St.
Lawrence County. Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home,
Phoenix, NY has care of arrangements.

Eleanor K. Miner

Eleanor “Ellie”, was a remarkable woman. She was a very loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a very dear friend to many. She was an avid member of the community. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, the South Jefferson Historical Society, the 4 H Club, and the Methodist Church of Pennellville. She loved square dancing with her family, exploring genealogy, and spending quality
time with loved ones playing dominoes and dice.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy Jo Miner-Day; her sibling, Wesley John Wescott; a grandson Ian Christopher; and parents, Kenneth and Marion Wescott.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly fifty six
years, John E. Miner; two children and spouses: Lori Miner-  Hall (Alan) of Oneida, NY, Charles Miner (Charlene) of
Ontario, NY; two brothers and one sister (along with their
spouses): Vernon (Diane) Wescott,Charles (Mary Lou)
Westcott; June (William) Philips; five grandchildren, and
three great-grandchildren.
Ellie was born on December 9, 1942 in Syracuse, NY. We
are blessed to have had her with us for seventy five years,
before she peacefully passed away on July 3, 2018. She
will be forever loved and missed. Her family asks that her
burial services be open to everyone who knew and loved
Eleanor. It will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at 11 a.m.
in Roosevelt Cemetery, 4434 State Route 49, Pennellville.
The Rev. Jeff Hodge will officiate Ellie’s services.

Elaine Dixe Ellis

Elaine Dixe Ellis, 72, of Phoenix, NY passed away suddenly
on Tuesday June 26, 2018 at St. Luke Health Services,
Oswego, NY. Born on Jan. 27, 1946 to her late parents,
Frances (Ducan) and James Dixe. Dixe worked for Lockheed
Martine Co., Syracuse, NY.

Dixe was a member of the N. R. A. ; VFW Post 5540 Auxiliary,
and the American Legion Post 418 Auxiliary both in Phoenix,
NY. She was an avid bowler and truly love Elvis.

Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Theodore W.
Ellis; two daughters Kimberly A. Kriesel and Kelly M. Ellis;
three grandchildren, Donald Gibbs, Kathyrn Gibbs, and
Marrisa Ellis; two great-grandchildren Amelia R. Edwards and
Tobias K. Edwads; one brother Jeffrey Dixe; three sisters,
Julie Bailey, Karen Garbutt, and Marsha Wilkins; several
nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours were on Sunday July 1 in the
Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, Phoenix, NY,
followed by a Celebration of Life and a VFW Post 5540 with
a presentation of Auxiliary flag and flag holder to the family.
Burial was on Monday July 2, 2018 in Jacksonville Cemetery
9250 Fenner Rd., town of Lysander, NY.

Joanne Sandra (Farmer) Kidd-Halstead-Brown

Joanne Sandra (Farmer) Kidd-Halstead-Brown, 72,
of Oswego,NY passed away
on Wed. July 4, 2014 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY.
Born on June 10, 1946, Syracuse. Attended Mexico, NY
and Phoenix, NY schools graduating in 1964.
Sandy was a resident services manager at the Jewish
Home, Syracuse; also G. E. Co., and was a waitress at Visco’s
Restaurant, Phoenix. Predeceased by her parents
Olive (Hadden) and Kenneth R. Farmer.
Surviving are her children Gretchen J. Sutton, Adrian Lee
Kidd, III, and Chad K. Kidd; granddaughter Adrianna Kidd;
a step-grandson Raymond Colon, Jr.;
her twin sister Joan Sharon Merritt; sisters Bonnie Farmer
and Bonnie Williams; brother Robert Williams; nieces, nephews.
Calling hours are on Tues. July 10, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m.,
with a service following visitation at 7 p.m. all in the Allanson-

Sharon E. (Boisey) Wilkinson

Sharon E. (Boisey) Wilkinson, 65, of Pennellville (Schroeppel),
passed away at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse on Monday July 2,
2018. Born to her mother Florence O. (Schultz) Froats and
her late father, Donald E. Boisey on Feb. 11, 1953. She was
a 1971 graduate of J. C. Birdlebough H. S., Phoenix, NY.
Sharon was a member of Beacon Baptist Church; enjoyed
camping and kayaking; scrap booking; and spending time
with her family and especially her grandkids.
Surviving are her loving husband of 46 1/2 years, Dale A.
Wilkinson; two daughters Amy L. (Jeffrey) Gruet of Glovers
ville, and Bethany A. (Patrick) Kallfelz of Pennellville; her four
grandchildren Jocelynn Gruet, Taylor Gruet, Harley Kallfelz,
and Piper Kallfelz; her mother Florence O. Froats of Phoenix;
her sisters, Marshelle (Dennis) Kimball, Debra (Ernest)
Renfrew, and Rhoda (Greg) Lauth all of Phoenix; several
nieces, nephews and cousins.
