Leo C. Borte

Leo C. Borte, Jr.Leo C. Borte, Jr., 92, former Phoenix, NY, and Zephyrhills, FL resident, passed away on
Monday May 2, 2016 in Syracuse, NY. He was born on May 3, 1923 in Syracuse, NY,
and was the son of the late, Helen (Ware) and Leo C. Borte, Sr.. A proud veteran, serving
in the US Coast Guard from 1943-1946. Leo was bridge and highway construction Inspector for the State of New York for
many years.

Leo had been a Phoenix Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and a Phoenix Memorial Post
VFW 5540 member. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Kathleen
(Archambo) Borte on April 12, 2012; his son, Stephen C. Borte, Sr. on January 16, 2013.

Surviving are his grandsons, Stephen C. Borte, Jr. of LaFayette, and Todd Stoutenger of
Pennellville, his granddaughter Lisa M. Batt of Walkersville, MD; six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services only on Saturday May 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Phoenix Rural
Cemetery, 126 Chestnut St., Phoenix, NY 13135. The Rev. Philip Brockmyre will officiate.
Coast Guard and VFW Post 5540 Honor Squads will offer military rites at the conclusion
of the service.
